Old Oaks Holiday Decorating Contests!!

As the holiday season is quickly approaching, its time to have a little fun and try to ring in the season with a little friendly neighborhood competition!! Actually two of them!!

We will be sending out paper flyers with this information as well. You may also find it on our Facebook page and on our www.oldoaks.us website.

Best Outdoor Christmas Decoration contest sponsored by the Old Oaks Civic Association:
Be as creative as you want to be. There are no themes, no real guidelines…it’s all about bringing the bling to your outdoor holiday decor should you choose to do so!

1st Prize is a $50 Visa gift card
2nd Prize is a $25 Visa gift card
3rd Prize is a $25 Visa gift card

Best Holiday Decorated Door:
There is also a contest for the best decorated door. This prize winner will receive a lovely, donated gift basket. The judging for this will occur at the same time as the Best Outdoor Christmas Decorations. There are also no restrictions or guidelines for decor requirements.

Judges will be three commissioners from the Livingston Avenue Area Commission (LAVAC) that do not live in Old Oaks — Terry Elliott, Latrice Holmes and Lucy Wolfe. The judging will happen on Sunday, December 11th at 6:00 pm. You do not have to sign up to be part of the contest and you do not need to be at home during the judging. Just be sure to have your lights on at that time as judges will be traveling throughout the entire neighborhood. We will deliver the prizes to the winners and announce it on the neighborhood listserv email group the following day.

We would love to have you join us at the next Old Oaks Civic Association Meeting on Monday, January 9th, 2017 at 7:00 pm.
These meetings are held on the second Monday of every month in Campion Hall on the 2nd floor of the St. John Center located at 640 South Ohio Avenue. Entrance is through the door along the alley.

WE ARE BRINGING BACK THE MARDI GRAS PARTY!!!
